These will be forwarded to the poster discussant for possible use

Presentation Details:
Following are
important details concerning poster presentations. Please read this
information carefully.
Upon arrival
at the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona (CCIB),
please proceed to the Congress registration desk to check-in and
get your conference materials. On Thursday, 29 June, once you have
your Congress badge, you can enter the Exhibition Area to hang your
poster. Please note the setup times below. The Exhibit hall will
not be open until Thursday morning, so it will not be possible to
hang your poster before this time.
Poster numbers
will be located on the poster boards in the Exhibit Hall, in numerical
order as they are listed in the Annals of Oncology. Do not move
your number or hang your poster in the place of another submission.
There is no specific Poster Viewing Session for you to attend. We
invite attendees to peruse posters during the Congress breaks, but
do not specify a time during which you must stand with your poster.
Please also
have your poster removed by 17:00 on Saturday, 1 July. Posters not
removed from the poster boards by this time will be taken down by
the CCIB staff as the poster boards will be removed from the Exhibit
Hall, and we cannot be responsible for the safety of your poster.

Posters exceeding this size will be placed at the rear of the
room. Presentations will be hung using pushpins or T-pins. Please
note you are required to bring your own push pins or t-pins.
Developing
Nations* Travel Awards
Ten (10) travel
awards are available for investigators from developing nations.
These awards will consist of Congress registration and a check for
€ 1500 for airfare and hotel, given at the Congress. Airfare
can be purchased by Imedex and deducted from this amount, if needed.

How
to Apply for Developing Nations* Travel Awards:
- The candidate
must be the first author of the submitted abstract
- The work
must not have been presented or published before the date of the
8th World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer.
- The candidate
must submit an abstract to the 8th World Congress on Gastrointestinal
Cancer in the usual manner, indicating that the abstract is to
be considered for the Developing Nations Award.
- Abstracts
must be submitted on schedule.
- Candidates
should submit TWO Word documents:

For Developing Nations Awards, the investigators should
include a 1-3 page description of their interests and
current research in Gastrointestinal Cancer, signed and
approved by their department chair.
The Educational
Committee will select the award winners on the basis of the scientific
content of the abstract. Winners will be notified in May 2006.
*Developing
Nations are defined by their appearance on the 2004 World Bank Low-Income
Economies list and include: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan,
Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Central African Republic,
Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo,
Cote d'Ivoire, Eritrea, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau,
Haiti, India, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Korea, Kyrgyz Republic,
Lao People's Democratic Republic, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar,
Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Moldova, Mongolia, Mozambique, Myanmar,
Nepal, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda,
