Poster Presentation Guidelines

Please use the following table to locate your poster presentation date/time:

Poster Set-up

8:30 – 10:00 on the morning of your poster presentation.

Poster Break-Down

Please remove your poster immediately following the afternoon poster viewing session. Posters not removed from the poster boards at the end of the poster viewing session will be taken down and disposed of by the CCIB staff. We cannot be responsible for the status of your poster after this time.

Poster Size

Posters should be a 90 cm wide x 120 cm tall and be in portrait format.

As a complementary service for poster presenters, we are proud to offer once again the innovative PosterSessionOnline platform, where all posters can be browsed online both on-site and after the Congress, to ensure that your poster gets maximum exposure. We strongly encourage all presenters to prepare and submit a copy online free of charge, via the link below. Furthermore, for abstracts selected for Poster, you can order printing online - on an optional basis - before the Congress and later collect your poster on-site at your convenience. The cost will be 59 Euros + 21% VAT.

  • When you have successfully submitted your poster, you will receive an e-mail. confirmation, which we recommend you print and bring with you to the congress.

Poster Location

CCIB, Poster Hall

Once you have your Congress badge, please check in at the “Poster Check-In” table the morning of your poster viewing between 8:30 – 10:00. The table is located inside the Poster Hall. Once you have checked-in at the table, you can proceed to hang your poster.

Poster numbers will be located on the poster boards in the Poster Hall, in numerical order using the Abstract Number. This number can also be found listed in the Annals of Oncology Journal Supplement. Do not move your number or hang your poster in the place of another submission.

We ask that you stand with your poster during the poster viewing times listed with each abstract. If for some reason you are unable to attend the Congress and you have not withdrawn your abstract, please contact wgiabstracts@imedex.com

Oral Presentation Guidelines

A select number of abstracts have been chosen for oral presentation as clearly stated in your acceptance letter. You will be required to give a 10 minute PowerPoint presentation, including Q&A. Please submit your presentation by 12 June.

If you wish to upload a new version of your presentation at the Congress, please bring a copy of your slides on a thumb drive to the Faculty Room and introduce yourself as an oral abstract presenter. (Please note: You cannot check in at the Faculty Room unless you are a speaker in the plenary session.) You must bring the final version of your presentation to the Faculty Room at least 1 hour prior to your talk. IF YOUR ABSTRACT PRESENTATION IS SCHEDULED FOR A MORNING SESSION, YOU MUST BRING THE FINAL VERSION OF YOUR PRESENTATION THE DAY BEFORE.

Poster Discussion Guidelines

A select number of abstracts have been chosen for poster discussion as clearly stated in your acceptance letter. A faculty member will lead attendees on a guided tour of Poster Discussion Posters during the morning break each day. Discussion Presenters should be at the Abstract Desk located in the Poster Hall 30 minutes before the poster discussion time on the day of their Poster Discussion Session. You will need to submit a PowerPoint file of your poster so that the faculty member can discuss your poster. Please submit your slides by 12 June.

Abstract Availability and Embargo

Abstracts will be available for viewing from the Annals of Oncology on Tuesday, 28 June 2017 at 8:00 local Barcelona.

Embargo Policy

All abstracts will be made available online on Tuesday, 28 June 2017 at 8:00 local Barcelona time.

Abstracts selected by the Scientific Committee for presentation as part of the agenda for the ESMO 19th World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer (designated with an O or LB before their number) are embargoed until the end of the scientific session during which they are presented.

Companies planning to distribute a press release containing embargoed information must ensure that the release clearly displays the embargo date and time. The company issuing the release assumes responsibility for ensuring embargoed releases are only distributed to reporters who will abide by the Congress embargo policy.

All press releases should be shared with the Congress Organizer, Imedex, LLC at least 7 days before release.
