The World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer is operating under the guidelines of the Spanish Code of Good Practice for the Pharmaceutical Industry defined by the EFPIA Spanish National Member Association. Q: What is the format of this year’s 2023 World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer and when will it take place?
A: The 25th annual World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer will be held LIVE in person from 28 June - 1 July 2023 in Barcelona, Spain. This immersive event will deliver the groundbreaking scientific research and education you have come to expect year after year from the Congress, including important treatment updates and commentary from our globally recognized experts and thought leaders.
Q: What is the programme for the 2023 Congress?
A: Our Congress Chairs along with the Scientific Committee have developed an outstanding programme for 2023, focused on practice-changing findings and new treatment approaches that will be of interest to the global gastrointestinal cancer community. View the Agenda: www.worldgicancer.com/agenda
Q: Will there be a 25th anniversary reception?
A: The 2023 Congress will host a 25th anniversary reception on Thursday 29 June 2023 at the CCIB. More details will be available at a later date.
Q. Will the programme be presented in English?
A. Similar to previous Congresses, all meeting content will be presented and discussed in English.

Q: Will my abstract still be published?
A: Yes. Authors of accepted abstracts, as well as those selected for oral presentations, will be notified by mid- to late-April. Abstracts will be published in a supplement of the Annals of Oncology in July as usual. All embargos remain as scheduled.
Q: Does the Congress accept late-breaking abstracts?
A: Yes. Noteworthy abstracts that missed the original abstract deadline will be reviewed and accepted on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us at wgi@owpm1.com with further questions.
